REPORT ON HYGIENE/HEALTH EDUCATION AT HECTA SCHOOL 

On May 31, 2023, the Environmental Health and Sanitation unit, in collaboration with the Wilson Foundation, conducted a Hygiene/Health Education outreach at Hecta School. The focus of the outreach was to educate students about the proper way of disposing refuse. PROJECT OBJECTIVE  

The objective of this Health Education outreach was to promote hygiene awareness and educate children, particularly those in the lower primary class (KG), about the importance of proper waste disposal.

PROJECT SCOPE 

This Health Education outreach operates on the primordial level of prevention, targeting children, especially those in the lower primary class (KG). By focusing on this age group, the project aims to establish good hygiene practices from an early age.

PRESENTATION BY MR. SAMUEL AGYIRI

During the outreach, Mr. Samuel Agyiri, an expert in environmental health, delivered a visual and practical presentation on the topic. He elaborated on the negative impacts of littering and highlighted the positive impact of proper waste management. His presentation aimed to raise awareness about the consequences of improper waste disposal and promote responsible waste management practices.

CONCLUSION

The Hygiene/Health Education outreach at Hecta School on the 31st of May 2023 was successful in promoting hygiene awareness and educating children about the proper way of disposing refuse. The presentation by Mr. Samuel Agyiri effectively highlighted the negative impacts of littering and emphasized the importance of proper waste management. By targeting children at an early age, the outreach aimed to instil good hygiene habits and encourage responsible waste disposal practices.
