As part of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly's contribution to solving crime, the Municipal Chief Excutive handed over a newly constructed Police Station with modern offices to the Akim Oda District Police Command of the Ghana Police Service, popularly referred to as Number 9.
Number 9 Ghana Police Station which is the 9th Police Station built in 1928 used to have juvenile and adult inmates using the same cells. The old cells also had both male and female inmates sharing the same washroom in the cells, causing great danger to the isolation of the inmates.
This new building has offices furnished with air-conditioning and modern office chairs and tables for the police officers, juvenile cells for male and female inmates and cells for adults both male and females
